Neighboring Pakistan has been encroaching on India’s territory from time to time. In this case, India owns an unmanned aerial vehicle to monitor Pakistan.
Hermes 900 Starliner aircraft
The Indian Army is all set to receive its first Hermes-900 Starliner unmanned aerial vehicle on June 18, significantly enhancing its surveillance capabilities along the Pakistan border.
AdDefence Systems is supplying Hermes-900 Trishti-10 drone to India. It is the Indian Army’s first major unmanned aerial vehicle. This aircraft will be made available to the three armed forces of the country.
Hermes 900 to be parked at Bathinda site
The Indian Army is set to receive two unmanned aerial vehicles for the first time. These two drones are going to be handed over to the Hyderabad force on June 18.
The supplies are coming to the army as part of an agreement signed under the emergency powers granted to the forces by the Ministry of Defence. Accordingly, the Indian Army is going to deploy these drones at its base at Batinda.
Hermes monitoring Pakistan
It is said that these Hermes drones, which will be stationed at Bathinda, can monitor the entire western border of Pakistan. In January this year, the Indian Navy received an unmanned aerial vehicle. Next, it is noteworthy that the Indian Army will get Hermes aircraft.
Supply of drones
In the next step, it is reported that the third Hermes aircraft will be delivered to the Navy and the fourth Hermes aircraft to the Army.
The Indian Army has ordered a total of two drones from AdDefence Systems. Also, the production of these unmanned aircrafts should be at least 60 percent domestic production and it was stipulated that it should be made in India.
Indo-Pakistan border
These drones are believed to be crucial for intelligence gathering along the India-Pakistan border. The Hermes 900 Starline drones are designed to fly for over 30 hours. Also, these planes can travel up to 2,000 km.
Also, the Drishti-10 drone can quickly detect low-level air threats that cannot be detected by drones, helicopters and radar. Thus, these Hermes aircrafts can sense danger from the smallest to the biggest.
Israeli made Hermes
The Hermes 900 Starliner is an advanced unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed by Israeli company Elbit Systems. This unmanned aircraft is designed for reconnaissance, surveillance, reconnaissance and communication, relay roles.
With a wingspan of 15 meters, the drone can fly for 36 hours at an altitude of 30,000 feet. Notably, Heron Mark 1 and Mark 2 drones are used by the Indian Army.
