18On the occasion of International Tribal Day, Coastal Tribal Day was observed today (06) in Malaimundal village under Mudur Divisional Secretary Division.
Organized by Trincomalee District Kweni Tribal Organization under the auspices of Civil Aamiyam, the tribal people had a display and events related to their lifestyle.
Also, a booklet containing twenty recommendations regarding solutions to the political, economic, socio-cultural challenges faced by the tribal people was also handed over to the visiting high officials.
Members of the public including Mudur Divisional Secretariat Officers, Eastern Provincial Director of Tourism, Trincomalee Regional Coordinator of Human Rights Commission, District Cultural Officer were present in the said event.
