Iran-India friendship will further strengthen under the new government

The bilateral friendship between the Islamic Republic of Iran and India will further strengthen under the new Iranian government, said Iran’s Ambassador to India Iraj Elahi.

He also thanked the Indian government for helping to set up polling stations in New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Pune to facilitate the voting of Iranians in India.

ANI As mentioned above in a special interview with Iran’s constitution, the president will be elected in Iran through direct popular vote. It will strengthen Iran’s sovereignty both domestically and internationally.

The election was held to choose the next president following the death of Iran’s late President Ibrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash. For this purpose, 58,640 polling booths were set up in public places including mosques and schools in Iran. As no candidate received more than 50 percent of the votes in the first round, the second round of voting will be held on July 05.

Late President Raisi was instrumental in strengthening and advancing the friendship between Iran and India. Among them, Iran’s Sabahar Port Development Agreement is a notable one. We hope that the agreement will be implemented in the coming months.
