Is the deed registration fee high for real estate companies requested by DMK? – Annamalai question

For the past three years once a month, the people of Tamil Nadu have been forced to impose fare hikes in one way or another DMK Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai has said that the government has shocked by increasing the deed registration fee several times.

In this regard, in a statement released by Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai, it has been said, “Since coming to power, the DMK government, which has been imposing fee hikes on the people of Tamil Nadu once a month in the last three years, has now shocked the public by increasing the deed registration fee several times. As per the ordinance dated May 8, 2024, DM has increased the fee for registration of 26 types of services to an unacceptable level, increasing the fee from Rs.5 to Rs.500 and from Rs.30 to Rs.1,000. Govt.

Already, from April 2023, the action of the DMK government, which started collecting guide value up to 50%, is illegal. Chennai Even after the judgment of the High Court, it continued to levy the increased fee in contempt of the High Court without respecting the judgment.

Against this, we had registered a protest on behalf of the Tamil Nadu BJP on 14th December 2023 and on 17th January this year. Following this, on March 6 this year, the Madras High Court ordered that the 2017 guide value should be followed, but the DMK government continues to ignore the court order and collect fees based on the increased guide value. Now, by increasing the deed registration fee several times, it has increased the tax burden on the common man many times.

Now, DMK government seems to be planning to raise the guide value again. According to this, the DMK government seems to be taking steps to raise the guide value by 33% in some places, by 50% in some places, and by up to 100% in some places. The DMK government, which has raised the deed registration fee and raised the guide value, and is acting without respecting the High Court verdict, the background of imposing such a high fee burden on the public seems to be the development and income of the real estate and construction companies requested by the DMK, and the public is affected. It is clear that DMK has no concern about it.

The DMK government should realize that governance is not for the public and the companies run by the DMK are looking for profit and not to increase the income of the DMK through the commission they get. On behalf of the Tamil Nadu BJP, I urge the DMK government to immediately withdraw this completely anarchic and unjust bond registration fee hike order and to immediately implement the Madras High Court order and collect the fees based on the 2017 guide value.” Thus Annamalai has issued a statement.
