Tamil Nadu Victory Kazhagam President Vijay personally met the victims of the death of 40 people who drank poisonous liquor in the Kallakurichi district at the government hospital and condoled with their families.
Liquor was sold in Karunapuram near Kallakurichi circle of Kallakurichi district yesterday. In this, many people who bought alcohol and drank it have suffered from chest irritation, eye irritation, stomach ache. Following this, the victims came to Kallakurichi Government Hospital for treatment. More than 60 people are receiving treatment since yesterday morning.
The death toll has risen to 40 so far. 19 people died in Kallakurichi Hospital, 8 people died in Salem Hospital, 4 people died in Villupuram Mundiambakkam Hospital and 3 people died in Jibmar, Puducherry. In connection with this, 3 people have been arrested and 10 people are being interrogated. Due to this there is excitement in the area.
