Kia has launched the facelifted model of the updated EV6 electric car in the international market. The EV6 facelift model gets some new features along with exterior and interior design changes. Kia is expected to bring this model to India next year. Well, what new changes has the EV6 facelift debuted with? Bye.
The front end is where the facelifted EV6 gets the most changes. Instead of the conventional headlight setup, the new Kia EV6 gets a new headlight setup with new angular LED DRLs. The setup is similar to that found in Kia’s other electric vehicles, the EV9 and EV3 models.
Apart from the headlamps, the front bumper and lower grille of the facelifted version have also received a new shape. The new EV6 facelift gets 19-inch or 20-inch alloy wheels depending on the variant. Only the rear bumper and tail light have been modified by Kia. Apart from these, there are no other design changes on the exterior.
The interior features a digital instrument cluster and infotainment display with panoramic screen, two-spoke steering wheel with fingerprint reader. The steering wheel with fingerprint reader is designed so that pre-registered drivers can operate the car without a key. Apart from this, it is reported that Kia will provide various electronic controls through an over-the-air update.
Along with the above features, the new Kia EV6 facelift model also features a digital rear view mirror, a new improved heads-up display and an AI-based navigation setup. The facelifted version gets a new bigger battery pack as a mechanical update. While the previous model had a 77.4 kWh battery pack, the new facelift version has an 84 kWh battery pack. This new battery can also be charged with a maximum 350 kW DC charger. When charged like that, it charges from 10-80% in just 18 minutes.
The rear-wheel drive EV6 facelift gets an electric motor that produces 225hp of power and 350Nm of torque. While this variant gave a range of 475 km earlier, it has now been improved to give a range of 494 km. The rear wheel drive dual motor variant is capable of producing 320hp of power and 650Nm of torque.
The EV6 facelift model is likely to make its India debut next year alongside an updated version of the Garance MPV. Before that, the new Carnival MPV and Kia’s flagship electric car EV9 are expected to be launched in India this year. We can expect these introductions in the next few months. Also, it is worth noting that Kia’s all-new SUV, the Syrosoom, is gearing up for a global launch.
