Tata’s micro SUV Panch has been the top seller in India’s automobile market for the past few months. To compete with that model, Hyundai also launched a micro SUV model called Exter last year. Now it has been reported that Kia company is going to introduce a new micro SUV model to compete with these cars.
Kia has been testing a new model on the roads in India for quite some time now, completely under wraps. Also, the company has recently registered the name Syros for trademark. Therefore, it is expected that the company will release a new micro SUV model with this name.
The model that the company is testing in India looks like a small car with a boxy body and a slightly steeper stance. Looking at it, there is every possibility of it being a micro SUV. Also, in the last few years, new car buyers have also shifted their gaze away from entry-level hatchbacks and towards less expensive SUVs. The sales of Tata Buns also adds to this.
Therefore, it seems that Kia may be planning to launch a new micro SUV based on customer demand and market competition. It seems that Kia may have borrowed some design elements from other Kia models and used them in the new car which is currently being tested.
The information about the engine of the new Kia model has not been released. However, Kia is expected to use a 1.2 liter petrol engine or a 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine in the new car. The company is also expected to offer not just one of the two, but two engine options, with manual and automatic gearbox options.
