Kuwait’s newly elected parliament was dissolved 2 days ago. Dismissal of Parliament is not new in the country. In this case, the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah has announced the new government of the country.

The new Cabinet of Kuwait is headed by Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al Sabah and passed by decree. The emir’s son-in-law, Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al Sabah, was appointed prime minister in April. Amir Sheikh Mishal said in the order that the Prime Minister and the ministers should implement this order.

However, there were serious disagreements between the government of Kuwait and the elected government. So, the Amir took action to dissolve the parliament that came to power a few months ago.

He not only dissolved the parliament but also banned the law for conducting elections. Moreover, the Emir of Kuwait also suspended some other laws. In this case, the Amir has issued an order announcing the new government within two days after dissolving the parliament.

Accordingly, a decree has been issued that a new parliament should be elected within two months of the dissolution of the Kuwaiti parliament, and that the parliament and the emir should approve these laws.

In that sense, Amir is believed to have given a hint that there will be no elections in the country for the next four years. The country’s media reported that the emir and the country’s cabinet will completely seize the powers of the dissolved Kuwaiti parliament.

Although the appointment of the Crown Prince was within the Amir’s absolute authority, the Amir had accused foreign interference in the matter in his announcement to the nation after dissolving Parliament. It is noteworthy that he had also said that continued conflicts between the government and the parliament elected by the people would endanger the security of the country.
