These 16 SUVs include 9 fuel SUVs and 7 electric SUVs. Out of the 9 petrol SUVs, three SUVs will be facelifted versions of existing models and six SUVs will be new models, the company said. While the majority of the electric SUVs are expected to be brand new SUV models, some electric versions of the fuel cars may also be introduced.

Mahindra has been focusing more on electric cars lately. However, they have not stopped focusing on their flagship segment, fuel SUVs. Out of the 9 SUVs that the company has announced to launch under the Thar Armada name, it seems that the long-awaited 5-door Thar will be launched by car customers.

Similarly, the Scorpio pickup model, which was showcased as a concept model last year, is expected to be launched in India as a new car, followed by other foreign markets. Following this, Mahindra is developing a new platform called U171. It seems that various SUVs will be built on this new platform, including the new 7-seater Bolero.

We mentioned above that Mahindra will have three SUV facelift models in their SUV lineup by 2030 along with six new SUVs. The lineup includes the XUV 700 and Scorpio N models. Mahindra recently launched the facelifted version of the XUV 300 with the name XUV 3XO.

It seems that the company is planning to release the next facelift models under a similar new name. To ensure that, Mahindra has registered for trademark names including XUV 1XO, XUV 5XO and XUV 7XO.

Tata is the most focused on electric vehicles in India. The company continues to introduce electric variants of the petrol cars it already sells in India. Now following that, Mahindra is focusing more on electric. But apart from focusing on the electric variant of their petrol cars, Mahindra is also giving more importance to electric cars that are being developed from the ground up.

So we can expect a new lineup of electric SUVs from Mahindra from the end of this year. The electric SUVs XUV.e8, XUV.e9 coupe and BE.05 are expected to be launched initially. Apart from these, Mahindra is also developing a Thar EV model which was introduced as a concept model last year.

Mahindra is planning to make a strong footprint in the electric vehicle market in India. Currently selling only the XUV 400 electric car in India, the company plans to invest 12,000 crores in electric vehicle development alone.

It seems that 60-80kWh battery and 175kW electric motor can be used in the electric vehicles to be launched by the company in India. Also, Mahindra is developing batteries that can be charged up to 80% in 30 minutes. The 80kWh battery is expected to give the car a range of 435 km to 450 km. Mahindra plans to offer rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options for their electric SUVs as well.
