Forgery incident: :
The number of people who died due to drinking liquor in Kallakurichi has increased to 57 as on the morning of June 23. While this incident is causing shock all over Tamil Nadu, the leaders of various political parties are personally meeting the affected and admitted to the hospitals and expressing their condolences.
Manima President Kamal Haasan Visits Kallakurichi:
In that way, People’s Justice Center party leader Kamala Haasan is today personally meeting the people who are receiving treatment in the hospital after drinking liquor in Kallakurichi.
Out of 500 people living in Karunakulam village of Kallakurichi district, 300 people drank liquor and because of this more than 200 people fell ill on the night of 18th and were admitted to hospitals.
Death toll rises to 57:
Initially, five people died of counterfeit liquor, but in the last four days, 57 people have died without treatment.
Also, 159 people are receiving treatment in various hospitals including Puducherry Jipmar Hospital, Salem Government Hospital, Kallakurichi Government Hospital, Mundyambakkam Government Hospital and more than 30 of them have lost their eyesight. Another 17 people are undergoing treatment in a critical condition, five people have returned home today after receiving treatment from Jipmar Hospital in Puducherry.
Meet and greet in person:
Meanwhile, People’s Justice Party leader Kamal Haasan is personally visiting the victims who are undergoing treatment at Kallakurichi Government Hospital today. He is also offering his condolences to the families of the victims.
He is also asking the doctors about the treatments being given to the victims.
