MDMK General Council Meeting 22 Resolutions Passed : Power to Vaiko .. Amendment in MDMK Party Rules

The Madhyamik General Committee meeting was held in Chennai today under the chairmanship of party president Auditor Arjuna Murthy. Madhyamik General Secretary Vaiko, Principal Secretary Durai Vaiko, Treasurer Senthiladipan and other important administrators participated in it. In the general committee, a resolution was passed condoling the victims of the landslides in Wayanad and Himachal Pradesh. The resolution was passed thanking the voters who voted for the DMK-led alliance in the Lok Sabha elections. It has also been announced that a protest demonstration will be held on the 14th in the district capitals on behalf of the Madhyamik to condemn the neglect of Tamil Nadu in the central budget.

It was urged that a caste-wise census should be conducted along with the population census and that a case of murder should be registered against the Sri Lankan marines who deliberately killed a Tamil Nadu fisherman.

Also, party rules were amended to empower the general secretary to appoint new executives in the event of the death or resignation of district secretaries and general committee members.
It was also urged that the NEET should be canceled and the National Examinations Agency should be completely dissolved and education should be brought under the state list. The resolution was also passed that apart from the gradual closure of Tasmac shops, Tamil Nadu should implement total alcohol prohibition like Gujarat and Bihar. A total of 22 resolutions have been passed.

Later speaking to the press, Vaiko said, “The central government is acting with hypocrisy in the matter of allocation of funds for Tamil Nadu. BJP is giving crores to the ruling states. However, no funds have been allocated for Tamil Nadu even for flood relief. A protest demonstration will be held on August 14 to condemn this trend of the central government and to demand the cancellation of the NEET examination. “All the members of Madhyamik should participate in it,” he said.
