While many bike vendors in India posted lower sales in May than previous months, Yamaha recorded slightly higher sales. The company had sold 63,098 bikes in April last year and 64,222 bikes in May last year. This is 1.78% higher than in April.

Similarly, Yamaha has recorded 19.88% higher sales than May last year. The company had sold 53,571 bikes in May last year. Beyond the increase in sales volume, the number of bikes sold has also changed.

Yes, the FZ was Yamaha’s best selling bike in May last year. But, for now, the MT bike has usurped that place. Yes, FZ bikes are the most bought Yamaha bikes in India. The main reason for that was its price. But beyond the price, young people are interested in MT bikes.

14,612 MT of bikes have been sold in May last year while only 7,156 MT of bikes were sold in May last year. Although the FZ bikes are lagging behind, they are also selling as much as the MT bikes. 14,359 FZ bikes were sold last May, compared to 16,919 FZ bikes sold in May last year.

The highest selling Yamaha scooter is the RAZR scooter. This scooter topped Yamaha’s overall sales last April with 14,055 units sold. It was ranked third with sales of 13,794 units last May.

The R15 bike, which is popular with the youth and has been on sale for years in India, sold 10,435 units in May last year. This is a slight decline compared to last month and last year.

Yamaha’s maxi scooter Aerox sold 1,671 units last May. Similarly, Yamaha’s big-engine bikes R3 and MT03, which were launched last December, have sold 21 units. It is noteworthy that 38 units of these bikes were sold last April.
