No more going to RTO office to get license.. New rule introduced from June 1.!

Chennai: Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has announced new norms for obtaining driving license.

As per the current practice, if an individual was to get a grafter’s license, he had to go to the RTO office for the test. This rule has now been changed by the central government.

That is, private training centers can conduct tests and give licenses, and it has been informed that this will come into effect from June 1.

Application Process:

These new regulations will be effective from June 1 After coming into force, its official website https://parivahan.gov.in You can apply by visiting the website.

The application fee depends on the type of license. Upload the required documents. Driving license will be issued after submission of all documents.

Fees:

Learner’s license is Rs.150, learner’s license test fee is Rs.50, driving test fee is Rs. 300, Rs 200 for issuing driving license, Rs 1000 for international driving permit and Rs 500 for adding another vehicle class to the licence.

New Rules for Private Coaching Centers:

Driving training centers should have at least 1 acre of land. That is, 2 acres for four wheeler training. Also, training centers should have necessary testing facility.

Apprentices must have completed high school or a diploma. Minimum 5 years of driving experience and familiarity with biometrics and IT systems.

Training Period:

Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) training takes 29 hours to complete in 4 weeks. Theory training is divided into 8 hours and practical training requires 21 hours.

Similarly, Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) training should be completed in 38 hours to 6 weeks. Theory training is divided into 8 hours and 31 hours of practical training is required.
