Shocking India vs Pakistan Match Ticket Prices
In this case, the ticket price of the match between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup series is about 1.46 crore rupees in Indian currency. This has shocked cricket fans.
Ticket number 30 in row 20 of section 252 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium has been listed for USD 1,75,400 (Rs 1.46 crore) on resale marketplace Stubhub. In the United States, tickets for entertainment and sports events can be sold legally according to the market, but the price of certain tickets has been drastically increased.
Tickets in adjacent rows in Section 252 are listed as lowest. Seats in row 21 are priced at USD 693 and seats in row 19 are priced at USD 801.
Tickets for seats in that category are listed at the same price on Viagogo, another resale site, without releasing the seat or row number.
As of last Friday night, the International Cricket Council (ICC) official site said some tickets were still available, not in line with the market, and priced from $1,500 in the Boundary Club section to $10,000 in the Diamond Club section, with Premium Club Lounge section tickets at $2,750 for the Corner Club section and $2,750 in between. Cabanas also said $3,000 per section.
There is a stark difference in price and demand between the matches, with tickets for Saturday’s Netherlands-South Africa match at the same venue starting at $120 for the premium and $700 for the premium club sections on the ICC site.
Also, tickets for next Wednesday’s India-USA match are listed at $300 for Premium, $1,000 for Premium Club Lounge, $1,350 for Cabanas and $7,500 for Diamond Club. According to the ICC, the demand for tickets for the India-Pakistan match at the 34,000-capacity stadium is 200 times higher.
Stubb, ViaCoco and similar platforms act as middlemen who charge the seller and buyer based on the value of the ticket and guarantee the transaction. But despite the hyped demand of $175,400 per ticket, asking prices on secondary markets were mostly between $700 and $1,000.
The second most expensive list on the stub-bill is Section 101 at $18,000. It is followed by the Diamond segment at $13,496. That includes perks like free VIP parking and “unlimited food and drinks (beer, wine and spirits),” the listing says.
ViaCoco lists $6,700 for a Diamond Club ticket. Most of the tickets in it were priced between $500 and as low as $700. The highest ticket price on Vividseats is $8,013 and the lowest price is $693.
