The country’s government passed it in the country’s assembly on Friday last week. 93 members have supported it. 33 did not report any results. The Labor Welfare Act for sex workers was passed because no one opposed the law.

It is noteworthy that Belgium is the first country in Europe to recognize sex workers as self-employed in 2022. According to a press release published by The Telegraph, the Belgian government has approved various benefits for sex workers.

Pension, maternity leave..

According to the Act, sex workers will be provided with health insurance, unemployment pension, family benefits, periodic vacations and maternity leave.

Go to alternate job:

Under this law, sex workers have the right to perform sex work as they wish and can terminate their sex work contract at any time without giving any reason. In doing so, they will not lose their pension rights, the report said.

Sex workers have the right to transfer to other jobs and apply without discrimination. Also, there is no need to talk about sex work when going to another job. Their names will be protected from public release.

Can be fired:

Similarly, if a sex worker does not work for more than 6 months, the owner of the sex agency has the right to fire him or her, according to Belgian law.
