Poisoning issue: In Kallakurichi, 19 people were undergoing treatment at Puducherry, Jimbar Hospital due to consumption of poisonous liquor, while 16 people are in critical condition, Jimbar Hospital has issued a report.

Tamil Nadu has been shaken by the death of more than 35 people due to consumption of poison in Karunapuram in Kallakurichi. Also, more than 100 people are receiving treatment in the hospital.

Following this, many party leaders were condemning the DMK government. Also, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has ordered to provide Rs. 10 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 each to those undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Now Puducherry Zimmer Hospital has released a report. In it, “19 patients were admitted to Jipmar Hospital on June 19, 2024 who had consumed poisonous liquor. 3 of them died. All the rest are in critical condition.

10 patients were put on ventilator due to breathing difficulties. They have been admitted to the intensive care unit for high-quality life-saving treatment. The remaining 6 patients remain in critical condition.

All 16 patients have been receiving dialysis treatment since admission. All the patients are being treated with utmost care by multidisciplinary medical teams and are under intensive monitoring,” it said.
