‘Police should not drive people away from night beach and park’: ICourt orders action

Chennai Jalil from Tirumangalam has filed a petition in the Madras High Court. In the petition, “The impact of summer heat is high. Because of this, people are paralyzed indoors, unable to move outside. Due to this, people are affected psychologically and mentally.

On behalf of the corporation, green shade has been set up at various signs. Various measures have been taken like this. However, people visit beaches and parks in the evening as well. At the same time, the police are asking the public not to be in parks and beaches after 9 pm. Therefore, the police should be ordered to allow people to stay in beaches and parks for more time in addition to them,” the petition said.

The petition came up for hearing today (Tuesday) before a bench comprising Justices GR Swaminathan and PP Balaji of the Madras High Court. At that time, they ordered the Chennai Metropolitan Police Commissioner to respond within a week and adjourned the hearing on the petition.
