Rishad signs a contract to support Sajith

– A motion for the Palestinians if possible

All Sri Lankan People’s Congress President and Member of Parliament Rishad Bathiuddin said that since the people agreed to abide by the leadership’s decision, they decided to support Sajith Premadasa in a secret poll held at the party’s political high-level with 31 votes.

He said this while speaking at the signing ceremony of the MoU to support United People’s Shakti candidate Sajith Premadasa in the presidential election.

The event took place today (15) at Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel, Colombo. The MoU was signed by United People’s Power Secretary Ranjith Mathuma Bandara MP and All Sri Lanka People’s Congress Secretary Subairdeen.

Addressing here, People’s Congress President Rishad Bathiuddin said,

“We have decided to support Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa in the upcoming presidential election. When a secret ballot was held on the matter in the party’s high command, out of 47 people present, 31 supported Sajith. During the past two weeks, they went all over the country, including the North and the East, and when they asked the people for their opinion, they said that they were bound by the decision of the party’s high command. This is why we support Sajithpremadasa.

Sajith is a non-racist, honest politician who keeps his promises. He is a great thinker who bestows the gifts given to him on the people.

Sajith Premadasa, who is the leader of the opposition, is helping not only his own constituency but the entire country. Working with a vision in the educational progress of students, he has provided four hundred learning screens to schools. Sajith Premadasa himself introduced the culture of donating buses to schools.

He also introduced the breathing program in hospitals to improve the health system. It is better to entrust the country to him who will implement new schemes according to the needs of the times.

“If elected president, our party has stipulated that a resolution should be brought for the Palestinians. That is to recognize the Palestinian territory as it existed before 1967,” he said.
