Spend more than Vijay Market! The producer who thought of making Gilli film?

Ghilli : Producer A. M. Ratnam first thought of making the film Gilli.

Dhan Gilli is a 2004 film directed by Dharani starring actor Vijay. This film can be said to be a turning point in Vijay’s film career. This film is a Tamil remake of the hit Okkadu released in Telugu starring Mahesh Babu.

But, it was not made like a remake of a Telugu film but it was made like a new film. To that extent, Dharani took the picture beautifully. Due to this, this film was very popular among the people. Fans are celebrating the re-release of the film even recently.

This movie was produced by famous producer AM Ratnam. As the re-release of Gilli is being celebrated, producer AM Ratnam spoke about the making of Gilli in a recent interview. First he saw SA Chandrasekhar’s film Okkadu and thought that it could be made in Tamil.

Immediately producer SA Chandrasekhar spoke to him thinking that it would be right if producer AM Ratnam bought the remake rights of this film. Before that, Vijay told his father that we can buy it and make it ourselves.

But SA Chandrasekhar told him that it would be fine if AM Ratnam took it because it had to be made on a high budget.

producer AM Ratnam first thought of making the film. Because at that time, the film had to cost more than the marketing cost of Vijay. Therefore, A. M. Ratnam has said that he will produce 2 films along with this film if he is given to act in them.

Because if this film Gilli is released and becomes a hit, then the next film starring Vijay will increase the collection, so it will be right if he acts in two films consecutively in my production. After that the discussion stopped as it was then director Dharani saw the film Okkadu and said that it would be good if all these things are changed in Tamil.

Then A. M. Ratnam said that he was going to say that he did not do this film. Immediately Vijay went and spoke to A.M. Ratna in person. After that, AM Ratnam said that if he makes some changes in the film, it will be perfect and he can take it if he wants.

In order for Vijay to agree to this, AM Ratnam bought the Tamil rights of Okkadu and produced the film. AM Ratnam has given this information in a recent interview.
