Application registration for admission to undergraduate engineering courses has started. Aspirants can apply till June 6, Directorate of Technical Education said.
The Tamil Nadu Class 12th General Examination Results were released yesterday (May 7). After this the application process for admission in engineering courses has also started.
There are more than 460 engineering colleges under Anna University in Tamil Nadu. Of these, there are about 1.50 lakh seats in undergraduate courses. Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission Counseling to fill these is conducted through website. Directorate of Technical Education conducts this consultation. Accordingly, Veerra Rao, as Commissioner of Technical Education Department, released the notification for this year’s consultation yesterday.
Accordingly, online application registration for engineering consultation has started from yesterday. Students can apply through the website www.tneaonline.org till June 6. Those who do not have internet access can submit applications through special service centers set up in 110 polytechnic colleges across the state. Also, facilities have been made for students to apply through the schools they have attended.
The application fee has been fixed at Rs.500 for general category and Rs.250 for SC, SCA and ST category. The deadline for uploading original certificates is 12th June.
The random number of students will be released on 12th June. The certificate verification will be conducted from 13th to 30th June. Subsequently, the rank list will be released on July 10.
If there is a mistake in it, you can report it. These complaints will be redressed by the service centers from 11th to 20th July.
Later, the dates of counseling will be announced as per All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) academic year schedule.
Meanwhile, students should select the service center for certificate verification while applying. Because if any defects are found while checking the documents online, they have to come directly to the concerned student service center and get it rectified. So, be careful while applying. Original certificate verification for sportspersons will be done directly in Chennai only.

Earlier, the engineering consultation would be held in the first week of August, according to department officials. Meanwhile, as the engineering application registration started yesterday, 20,097 students registered their application on the first day itself (as of 6 pm). Of these, 5,812 have paid the fees, according to the Directorate of Technical Education.
