11England Test captain Ben Stokes has pulled out of the Test series against Sri Lanka after sustaining a hamstring injury during the Hundred Test series.
After this, vice-captain Oli Pope will act as the captain of the England team for the upcoming three-match Test series against Sri Lanka starting on August 21.
Stokes, 33, picked up the injury while playing for Nathan Superchargers against Manchester Original at Old Trafford last Sunday (11).
In this case, Stokes is hoping to get fit before England’s tour of Pakistan for the three-match Test series on October 7.
Stokes, who has already undergone surgery for a left knee injury, is avoiding bowling.
