Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s helicopter got stuck in the air due to unexpected bad weather. People screamed in fear at the sight of the Chief Minister’s chopper, which was unable to land due to cloud cover.
Assembly elections are being held in Odisha next week along with the parliamentary elections. The BJP has made some efforts to meet the elections with the long-time ruling Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. But since Naveen Patnaik did not budge, the BJP has come to the stage of contesting there alone.
Polls suggest that the Biju Janata Dal will win there again. However, across the state, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and other ministers are engaged in a whirlwind campaign. The Biju Janata Dal is said to have influence among the people of Odisha as the Biju Janata Dal maintains a cordial relationship with the BJP despite not being in an alliance. Biju Thanada Dal is determined not to let BJP gain a foothold in Odisha at any stage.
Apart from this, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who is campaigning in Odisha by helicopter, campaigned in 2-3 districts today. Then he left there and came to the capital Bhubaneswar. His helicopter was scheduled to land at the Bhubaneswar airport when the weather suddenly changed. A rain cloud surrounded and a gale started blowing.
As a result, the Chief Minister’s helicopter was unable to land at the airport and kept circling around. Also, the wind speed was high and the helicopter was hovering like it was hovering. Seeing this, the officials were at a loss as to what to do. People also got scared seeing the helicopter flying around.
The helicopter circled like this for about half an hour and then landed safely at Jharsuguda in Bhubaneswar. Then Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik left in his car and went to his house. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister’s Security Division police are investigating the incident. Last week, Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s helicopter stalled while taking off and there was a lot of commotion.
