Upcoming Super Facility at Madurai Airport:
Airport Director B. Muthukumar said on Saturday that the automatic parking management system will be launched at Madurai Airport soon.
In a press release issued by him, he said that as per the order of the Airports Authority of India, the new system will be implemented at the airport from next week.
Parking Charges:
Vehicle parking charges are fixed at ₹20 (0 to 30 minutes). And 30 to 120 minutes is ₹35 for commercial cars, ₹30 and ₹40 for private cars, tempo (above seven seats, ₹60 and ₹80), bus, truck (₹170 and ₹250) and two-wheelers for the first 30 minutes at Rs. ₹15 for 10 and 30 to 120 minutes.
Also commercial vehicles with a duration of more than 2 minutes 30 seconds which includes cars, coach, bus, truck and mini bus will be charged.
For four-wheelers, the fare will increase by ₹10 for every hour after two hours.
The monthly fee for employees of Airports Authority of India and other recognized agencies working at the airport is as follows: Free for AAI employees, ₹2000 for tempo, ₹500 for other cars, ₹250 for two-wheelers and ₹1,500 for vehicles arriving at cargo premises.
These proposed charges are inclusive of all taxes including GST, if applicable.
ATM cash vans that top up at ATM machines in the airport premises are exempted from parking charges and overtime charges.
Similarly, government-owned vehicles will also be exempted from toll. However, a penalty of ₹300 will be levied for a lost ticket, the statement said.
