As the demand for SUVs continues to increase in India, car manufacturers are also launching new SUVs. Next in line are Skoda, Hyundai and Kia to launch their new and updated compact SUVs. So what compact SUVs are coming out? Bye.
Skoda’s New Compact SUV:
Skoda has announced that it will launch a new compact SUV model in India by March 2025. Skoda also plans to build this new compact SUV on the MQB A0 IN platform, which the company has developed to manufacture cars in India.
Another mid-size SUV from Skoda, it is expected that Skoda will use the features of the Gushak model which is currently on sale in this new compact SUV. The new SUV is expected to be powered by a three-cylinder, 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 115hp of power and 178Nm of torque. It has also been reported that Skoda may use any of the names Kwik, Qymac, Kylog, Carrick or Carrick for this new compact SUV.
Hyundai Venue:
Hyundai is planning to launch the next generation model of its Venue SUV which is already on sale in India next year. The next generation Venue is expected to be introduced with a new design and additional features without any mechanical updates. The new SUV is expected to be manufactured at Hyundai’s recently acquired Dalgayan plant in Maharashtra.
Kia Clavis:
Kia is expected to launch its new SUV, the Clavis, in India in early 2025. It is also said that Kia may use the name Syros instead of Clavis for this model. The Clavis will sit between the Sonet and Seltos models that the company already sells in India. Kia is said to have based the design of the new Clavis SUV on the design of the Soul SUV sold by the company internationally.
We can expect the Clavis not just as a fuel SUV, but also in hybrid and electric models. Kia is expected to launch the Clavis SUV with various features including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital consoles, ADAS features, panoramic sunroof and wireless charger. Kia plans to launch the petrol version first and the electric version in the second half of 2025.
