Tamil Nadu Govt Local Holiday Schools, Colleges Today (August 5) Holiday: District Administration Notification!

The District Collector has ordered to declare a local holiday for the Tuticorin district on 5th August today on the occasion of the festival of the world famous holy Panimaya Mata Paralaya located in Tuticorin.

The 440th annual festival of Thoothukudi Banimaya Matha Temple started with a bang on 26th July with flag hoisting. The flag hoisting ceremony was held under the leadership of Bishop Stephen of Thoothukudi Diocese.

The ten-day long festival has reached its conclusion today. For the past ten days, daily rosary, mass, eulogy and eucharistic blessing were held.

The police department is engaged in security work on the occasion of Panimayamata festival. Today (August 5) will be the closing ceremony of the Mass at 7.30 am, a special mass will be held at 9 am presided over by diocesan priest Panneer Selvam and at 10 am presided over by Bishop Yvonne Ambrose.

At 5 pm, the closing mass of the festival will be held under the leadership of Palayangottai District Bishop Anthonysamy. On the 11th festival, at 7 pm, the Thiruvuruva Ther Bhavani of Mother takes place on the city streets. The district administration is making good preparations for the festival.

Lakhs of people not only from Tuticorin district but also from all over Tamil Nadu participate in Panimayamatha festival.

A day of local holiday has been declared for Tuticorin district today as Tuticorin city is in full swing. Today is a holiday for schools, colleges and government offices.

Tuticorin District Collector Lakshmipathi has declared August 10 (Saturday) as a working day to compensate for this holiday.

A local holiday has been declared for Chengalpattu district tomorrow (August 6) in view of the Adi Purat festival at Maruvathur Adiparashakti Siddhar Peedam in Chengalpattu district. A holiday has been announced for schools, colleges and government offices under Chengalpattu district tomorrow. To compensate for this, August 31 has been declared as a working day.
