oneindia news

The midsize SUV segment is one of the most competitive car segments in the Indian automobile market. Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, MG Aster, Skoda Kushak, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hiradder and Volkswagen Tycoon, the list of cars competing in this segment goes on and on. But all these are only models with fuel engine. The midsize electric SUV is yet to make its debut in India. Tata plans to launch an electric variant of the mid-size SUV coupe model Curve first to fill that void.

Now that the spyshot photos of the Curve EV model have leaked online, we have some information from it. Accordingly, the Nexon compact SUV model has a curved dashboard as well as the EV model. The curved four-spoke steering wheel on the Harrier model is also available on the EV. Infotainment controls and cruise control are provided on the steering wheel itself.

Also, the Curve EV will get a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a 360-degree camera (like the Nexon EV). Also, the Curve EV will also get a panoramic sunroof. It is noteworthy that the same panoramic sunroof facility as the Nexon model is going to be offered in the Nexon.

Although it is a midsize SUV coupe model, Tata plans to give the Curve EV some of the amenities offered in a larger SUV. Accordingly, it is expected that additional features like ventilated seats, 10.25 inch digital driver display, dual zone climate control system, 6 way powered driver seat and switchable ambient lighting, Gesser controlled tailgate and powered driver seat with welcome function can be provided.

Along with this, we can see in the spyshot that the electronic parking brake, engine drive modes, 18-inch alloy wheels, and flush fitting door handles are provided. The secondary ADAS features offered on the Harrier and Safari models are expected to be offered on the top variants of this curve electric car as well.

All these facilities may not be available:

While the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta, which are competitors of the Curve model, have an 8-way powered driver’s seat, the Curve only has a 6-way powered driver’s seat. While the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Highrider come with a reclining seat at the rear, it seems that the Curve EV will not. While the aforementioned SUVs also feature a heads-up display, the Curve EV does not.
