The incident of a person bathing cows in the river in Veeravanallur area of Kanyakumari district was swept away by the sudden flood which has created a lot of excitement in the area.
Manikandan (32), a resident of Veeravanallur area near Njalam in Kanyakumari district, washed his cows in the nearby river and left them on the bank and went into the river to take a bath. At that time, the river was suddenly flooded with wild wind. This wild flood dragged Manikandan who was bathing in the river. Residents of the area informed Nagercoil Fire Department about Manikandan’s disappearance in the wild floods.
The fire department personnel who rushed to the spot after getting information about the incident were actively involved in the search for Manikandan who was dragged in the wild flood. Meanwhile, as it was night time, the fire department temporarily suspended the search operation.
Following this, the fire department personnel continued their search operation from this morning. After about twenty hours of searching, Manikandan, who was dragged by the wild flood, was found dead a short distance from the area. This incident has caused great sadness among the people of the area.
