Indian stock market benchmark equity indices closed the trading session higher on Monday (May 6, 2024).
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty-50 gained 85.75 points or 0.38% to 22,561.60 and the Mumbai Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex gained 340.91 points or 0.46% to 74,219.06.
Broad indices opened in the mixed zone. The Bank Nifty index rose 251 points or 0.51% to settle at 49,174.55.
Stock status
Britannia, Kotak Bank, TCS, JSW Steel and Infosys were the top gainers in the Nifty 50.
Top losers on the Nifty 50 on May 06 were Titan, Adani Enterprises, PPCL, SBI and Coal India.
