Now that the provisional answer keys for TNPSC Group 4 exam have been published on the website, let us now see how the cut off will be.
The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has conducted the Group 4 examination on June 6 to fill up the vacancies in Ministry, Boards, Forest Service and Public Sector Undertakings for the fourth level posts. This examination was conducted for a total of 6244 posts. Through this examination various posts including Village Administrative Officer, Junior Assistant, Typist, Forest Guard are to be filled. A total of 15.8 lakh candidates appeared for the Group 4 exam.
Meanwhile, the provisional answer keys for the Group 4 examination on June 19 have been published on the website of the examination board.
For Group 4 exam, 200 questions will be asked for 300 marks including 100 questions in Tamil section and 100 questions in General Knowledge and Proficiency section. Examiners report that the Tamil section was a bit easier this year.
At the same time they felt that the General Knowledge section was a bit difficult. Some of the questions are said to be of the standard of Group 2, Group 1 exams. Also, while 25 questions are usually asked in the disability section, this year an additional 2 questions were asked. So it is said that the cut off is likely to be slightly lower this year.
So, 165 – 168 for General category, 164 – 167 for PC category and 164 – 167 for MPC category are likely. 157 – 160 for BC Muslim category, 161 – 164 for SC category, 159 – 162 for SCA category and 156 – 160 for ST category are expected. One mark is likely to be deducted from this for those who have studied in the Tamil way. And as the number of vacancies is expected to increase, the cut off is likely to decrease further.
However, some experts say that the cut off is likely to be lower than this. Some say the cut off will be same as last year.
Here the cut off is not 300 marks but the number of correct questions out of 200 questions.
