Famous playback singer Velmurugan has been driving his car through this road on the last 11 days. At that time, Velmurugan was arguing with the employees about the barricade set up by the Metro employees. Also, Velmurugan is said to have scolded the Metro staff for closing the road without any prior notice.

In this, Vadivelu, a metro employee, was injured and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Also, a complaint was filed against Velumurugan at Virugambakkam police station on behalf of Vadivelu. Virugambakkam police have registered a case and started investigation.
Accordingly, singer Velmurugan was arrested this morning. They registered a case against him under two sections including speaking obscenity and assault. The police have since interrogated him. Accordingly, the police warned him, wrote him down and released him on police station bail.
Earlier, he was involved in an altercation with security officials at the Chennai airport last March while under the influence of alcohol. It is noteworthy that the video went viral on social media and created a stir.
