Arvind kejriwal: The Supreme Court asked Arvind Kejriwal’s side why they did not file a bail petition.

On 21st of last month, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a case of liquor policy abuse. After this, the Enforcement Directorate was investigating Kejriwal. Accordingly Arvind Kejriwal is in Delhi’s Tihar Jail in judicial custody after the enforcement department’s custody is over.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal filed a petition in the Delhi High Court against the arrest and detention by the Enforcement Directorate, but it was rejected. An appeal was filed in the Supreme Court.

After filing a reply in this regard in the Enforcement Department, various allegations were made on Kejriwal’s side. In this situation, the hearing on the appeal filed by Kejriwal was held in the Supreme Court today. At that time, the judges questioned Arvind Kejriwal’s defense as to why they have not yet filed a petition for bail.

To this, Arvind Kejriwal’s side said that the arrest itself is illegal, how can he ask for bail. This is why we have filed a direct petition to cancel the arrest process and to declare the enforcement department’s detention as illegal. The arrest was made without sufficient evidence.

Apart from that, Arvind Kejriwal’s name has not been mentioned in the charge sheet filed in connection with this case and in the statements given by the witnesses. Arrest has been made in the absence of any documents to prove against him. This is why Jejriwal argued that the arrest was illegal and was purely a political vendetta.
