The Lok Sabha elections for 543 constituencies across the country will begin on April 19

This election will be held in 7 phases and 4 phases have been completed. While the vote registration for 379 constituencies has been completed, the fifth phase of vote registration will be held today in 49 constituencies.

Voting will begin at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm. In this, elections are held today in 8 states including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and West Bengal.

All attention has turned to the fifth phase of the election as the elections for constituencies contested by many star candidates are taking place today.

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, BJP Ministers Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani, Piyush Goyal, Lok Janashakti (Ram Vilas) President Chirak Paswan, former Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of the National Conference Party are among the star candidates contesting in the fifth phase of elections.

Along with the election for 3 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state of Jharkhand today, the by-election for former Chief Minister Hemant Soran’s Kandeh Assembly constituency is going to be held. Hemant Soren’s wife Kalpana Soren is competing in this.

Along with the Lok Sabha elections in Odisha, the Legislative Assembly elections are going on in 4 phases, the 2nd phase is going to be held today in 35 constituencies. Voting is going on in Hinjili and Kandabanji constituencies where Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is contesting.

Voter turnout has been low in the 4 phases of Lok Sabha elections held so far. It is said that due to the heat wave, the turnout for voting has decreased significantly. But since the last few days it has been raining in various parts of the country, the heat has subsided and the cold is prevailing. So voter registration is expected to increase today compared to 4 phase elections.
