Woman arrested for trying to come to Sri Lanka by boat from Rameswaram

A woman from Mullaitivu area who tried to come to Sri Lanka illegally from Rameswaram has been arrested by the Tamil Nadu police. The police have arrested 02 agents with him.

When the police were engaged in surveillance work in the Ramanathapuram beach area, when they interrogated the woman standing suspiciously, the woman spoke in Sri Lankan Tamil.

Subsequently, when she was taken to the police station and interrogated, it was revealed that she is a 45-year-old woman from Mullaitivu Pandyan Pool, who had obtained a 6-month visa from Sri Lanka for medical treatment in Chennai in 2013.

This woman, who stayed in Puducherry for 24 days, has been working as a tailor in the house of a Sri Lankan in Valasaravakkam area of ​​Chennai for the past 10 years. On June 30, he came to Madurai and with the help of a relative, contacted Jesu (35), a 17-year-old from Thangachimata, and said that he would pay 50,000 rupees to take him to Sri Lanka by boat.

According to this, investigation revealed that he came to Rameswaram to take a boat to Sri Lanka.

A case was registered and the woman and two agents were arrested. Police are looking for another person involved.
